PHILADELPHIA, PA – MARCH 27: Head coach Roy Williams of the North Carolina Tar Heels celebrates by cutting down the net after defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish with a score of 74 to 88 in the 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament East Regional Final at Wells Fargo Center on March 27, 2016 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Roy Williams is going to the Final Four for the eighth time as a head coach, after North Carolina beat Notre Dame 88-74 on Sunday in the Elite Eight.

So, the 65-year-old head coach has plenty of experience cutting down nets, but you wouldn’t know that by his net-cutting efforts following the Tar Heels’ big win, as he came out with a bloody finger:

But when you’re a Hall of Famer, you quickly figure out how to spin an embarrassing moment into making yourself look like a badass.

“I’ve really got very good-looking blood. It’s very bright, very deep colors.”

There’s a good chance that Williams gets a shot at (blood-free) net-cutting redemption in the next week, as the Tar Heels enter the Final Four as favorites to win the National Championship.
