The Saint Peter’s Peacocks have pulled off another stunning upset — as 13-point underdogs — in the NCAA Tournament, taking down No. 3 seed Purdue 67-64 in the Sweet Sixteen. In doing so, Saint Peter’s becomes the first 15-seed to ever reach the Elite Eight.

The epitome of March Madness.

Perhaps we shouldn’t even be considering these Saint Peter’s wins to be big upsets (despite what the seeding and point spreads suggest).

Saint Peter’s took down 2-seed Kentucky 85-79 in the first round. They followed that up with a 70-60 victory over Murray State in the Round of 32. And now they take down a 3-seed in the Sweet 16. None of these wins have looked remotely fluky to the eye test.

The Peacocks will face the winner of the North Carolina-UCLA game in the Elite Eight, with the a trip to the Final Four on the line.
