TCU-SMU is the only FBS game on Friday night’s college football schedule, and the game got off to a late start after a lengthy weather delay in Dallas. Maybe that delay was a bad thing for No. 16 TCU’s defense, because they look very rough through one quarter against an SMU team that got blown out 46-23 by North Texas in Week 1.

SMU currently has a 9-0 lead in the second quarter, and scored a touchdown in the first quarter on a 51-yard run by senior Braeden West. While it was a tremendous effort by West on the run, the tackling attempts by TCU were awful.

TCU plays No. 4 Ohio State next week, and things will get ugly for the Horned Frogs if their tackling looks like that.

Odds are that TCU picks up their play over the remainder of this game against SMU, and if they don’t, the Mustangs would come away with a massive upset. Gary Patterson’s TCU squad entered the game as 23.5-point favorites over SMU.
