The South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team is having a terrific season, entering play on Monday night with a 21-2 record that has them ranked No. 6 in the nation.

Unfortunately, they have to play a team that hasn’t lost in a while. A long while. That would be Geno Auriemma’s UConn Huskies… who are going for their 100th straight win tonight.

It’s going to be quite a challenge for the Gamecocks, but if the pregame is any indication, maybe they’re ready to meet that challenge. Check out this insane shot from Gamecocks senior Alaina Coates:

Okay, so draining a half-court shot while sitting down probably isn’t a sign of anything to come in the actual game. But damn is it impressive! And it would kill in a game of H-O-R-S-E.

Then again, Coates may be as surprised as anyone by that shot, as the star center hasn’t made a three-pointer in her four seasons with South Carolina.
