Star quarterback Spencer Rattler was one of the most high-profile transfers of the college football offseason, moving from the Oklahoma Sooners to the South Carolina Gamecocks. He’s talked plenty about his time at Oklahoma, but as South Carolina’s season-opener nears, he’s making it pretty clear he’s

During his press conference ahead of South Carolina’s season-opening game against Georgia State on Saturday, Rattler got a little frustrated when a reporter asked him to recall what it was like taking the field at Oklahoma.

“I’m just talking about South Carolina, you know what I’m saying,” Rattler said, shutting the question down. “I’m excited to run out to ‘Sandstorm.’ I don’t even remember what we did running out. We kind of just ran out. But, yeah.”

Rattler, of course, is referring to South Carolina’s gameday tradition where the players take the field to the 1999 song “Sandstorm” by Darude.

Saturday will mark Rattler’s first start as a member of the Gamecock football team. Last season, Rattler began the year as a preseason Heisman Trophy candidate for the Oklahoma Sooners but struggled throughout the season before he was ultimately replaced by freshman Caleb Williams.

Now at South Carolina, Rattler is looking for a fresh start and to live up to the five-star potential he showed coming out of high school. And just like former Texas quarterback Casey Thompson at Nebraska, he’s done talking about his former school.
