Texas

In terrible news for Texas Longhorns fans, they’ve lost to Kansas again.

Texas softball, ranked eighth in the nation this year, fell to the Jayhawks in stunning fashion on Friday night. KU went to Austin and grabbed a win in absolutely dominant fashion.

The Jayhawks defeated the eighth-ranked Longhorns 9-3.

Kasey Ham was particularly sharp in the circle. The Jayhawks lefthander tossed a complete game in the upset victory. Ham struck out five Texas batters, allowed five hits, and only three runs.

Prior to the stunning loss, Texas had been basking in a very successful season. The Longhorns were 34-8-1 on the season until Friday night. Texas was also an impressive 22-3 in Austin this season, so it’s no small feat that the Jayhawks were able to pick up that win. Kansas’ effort was a remarkable one, but a sloppy one for the Longhorns.

The Longhorns committed a brutal five errors in the loss. They recorded as many errors as they did hits. No matter how you say that, in any sort of way, it’s a terrible thing.

The college sports world reacted to the stunning loss.

“JAYHAWKS DEFEAT #8 TEXAS!!” the Kansas Softball account boasted.

“Rock Chalk!” the KU Athletics Twitter account celebrated.

Glenn Kinley called it a “BIG TIME DUB!”

“They losing to Kansas in softball now too?” A rival fan tweeted.

An OU fan took the time to laugh at Texas’ expense.

And another OU fan took great delight.
