The Texas Longhorns just won the NCAA Volleyball Championship in impressive fashion.
Texas finished the tournament with a sweep of fellow one-seed Louisville. UT hit them with a 25-22, 25-14, 26-24 defeat to clinch their third NCAA volleyball championship in program history.
The NCAA Women’s Volleyball account tweeted in celebration. They said, “TEXAS WINS THE TITLE!!! (1) Texas Volleyball wins the National Championship for the first time in a decade and its third NCAA title in program history by sweeping (1) Louisville (25-22, 25-14, 26-24)!”

The Longhorns lost only one match all season. That came back on October 19, when the UT fell 3-2 to the Iowa State Cyclones. Texas was otherwise unblemished this season and finished a remarkable campaign with a title victory Saturday night.
The Longhorns lost just three sets all tournament. They defeated Fairleigh Dickinson and Georgia 3-0 each in the first and second rounds. Texas then won 3-1 over both Marquette and Ohio State in the NCAA Regionals. And then, the UT won 3-1 over the San Diego Toreros in the semifinal earlier this week on Thursday.
The sports world chimed in after the victory.
“A SWEEP FOR THE NATTY” tweeted the Texas Volleyball account in celebration of the title win.
