Nike founder Phil Knight has given a lot back to the University of Oregon. One popular aspect, in particular, is that the University of Oregon football team seem to have different looking uniforms every week. While most college football teams only have a home and away or maybe a special third jersey for the biggest teams, the Oregon Ducks have seemingly used every combination of green, white and yellow anyone could think of.

The Oregon Ducks have found one combination that the football team hasn’t used yet. They are actually going to look like ducks this weekend against Colorado.

According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, Oregon will wear orange socks and cleats for the first time, making the players have the look of an actual duck.

The look, at least when compared to the mascot, is pretty accurate. I’m actually surprised it took the Ducks this long to actually do this. The collar will have a saying that reads, “Once A Duck, Always A Duck.”

Despite what appears to be just simply Nike designing different uniforms for the sake of it, Nike and Oregon have a vested interest in the design of these jerseys. Along with the duck look, Nike is experimenting with new materials designed to make this jersey four ounces lighter than their usual jerseys and able to clear moisture and sweat more effectively.

And, the duck look is a great look for the Oregon Ducks. Just enjoy it while you can because it’s likely you aren’t seeing this after this weekend.
