The Texas A&M Aggies football team had an interesting offseason, to say the least. From the Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher feud to the release of a video seemingly confirming that TAMU pays recruits, not to mention dealing with the fallout of player arrests.

Adding insult to injury, Tim Brando now says that the Aggies are overrated going into this season.

“Texas A&M is, without question, overrated,” Brando told Crain & Co. during a recent visit. “I just think they’re sucking all the joy out of who is really is third.”

Brando was discussing who was the third-best team in the SEC after Alabama and Georgia, but he clearly does not think it is going to be the Aggies. However, the college football analyst wasn’t finished there. He also said “look, last year that team was mediocre except that one game against Alabama. They put it together. Good for them.”

After beating Alabama in College Station last year, the Aggies weren’t able to capitalize in the SEC West and finished 8-4 with a 4-4 conference record. They’ll look to improve on last season’s fifth-place SEC West finish and, hopefully, prove Brando wrong. We’re guessing Nick Saban and Alabama won’t be looking to do them any favors this time around, however.
