The UC Riverside Highlanders — an 8.5-point underdog — pulled off a road upset over the Arizona State Sun Devils in unbelievable fashion on Thursday night.

Trailing 65-63 th 1.7 seconds left, UC Riverside had to inbound the ball from the opposite hoop. But they didn’t need cover too much ground be to within range for J.P. Moorman II.

Moorman drained a shot from well beyond half-court to beat the buzzer and give the Highlanders a 66-65 victory in Tempe.

We’re not even a week into the 2021-2022 college basketball season, and that shot is going to be hard to top for the craziest game-winner this season. An absolutely amazing shot by Moorman.

An incredible moment and significant win for the UC Riverside program and the Big West Conference- and a rough loss for ASU and the Pac-12.
