Myles Garrett is considered one of — if not the best — college football players in the country. Thanks to his wide influence and high profile platform, Garrett chose to send prayers to those in the path of Hurricane Matthew.

The Texas A&M defensive end helped lead the Aggies over #9 Tennessee 45-38 in double overtime Saturday. After the game, Garrett answered questions about the win, but finished off by sending a heartfelt message to people bracing the storm Hurricane Matthew.

“I’d like to say one more thing. For all those affected with Hurricane Matthew, I wanted to say can you give whatever you have supporting and praying for them — those in Florida and those in Haiti. Can just pray for them and support Mission of Hope? And know their endeavors. They’re trying to pursue not only prayers, but them going out, actively helping them getting clothes, getting food, getting water for those who are without electricity or without anything right now. Without a home that’s just got blown away or washed away in the hurricane, so if you can support them. You know, show some love. Maybe send some letters, send some money, maybe send some clothes you don’t need or a canned food, it would be much appreciated. It would go a long way,” Garrett said.

Garrett is already ranked highly for his play (and is even ranked No. 1 on many NFL draft boards). After all, he does hold the SEC freshman record for sacks with 11.5 thanks to plays like these.

On top of just talking about Americans dealing with the impact of Hurricane Matthew, Garrett also took the opportunity to try and help raise funds for a charity in Haiti, Mission of Hope. The charity focuses on raising money to help with projects, church advancement, orphan care, education, health care, HaitiOne, Nutrition, and empowering women in Haiti.

Whichever team is lucky enough to draft Garrett not only will land a geat player, but as importantly a great person who will be a role model for generations of fans.
