The Virginia Tech Hokies have been a team that has been floating around the bubble all season to make it into the NCAA Tournament, but they may have just drastically changed the course of their season Wednesday night.
They took on the Clemson Tigers in the second round of the ACC Tournament, where it was a back and forth affair all night.
Both teams scored to seemingly put their team ahead late into the second half, but the game ultimately went to overtime.
In overtime, Clemson found themselves up by one with the ball. Their star forward P.J Hall went to the free-throw line and made one out of two free throws.
This left the door open for Virginia Tech with the last possession of the game to either tie or win the game.
Virginia Tech sophomore guard Darius Maddox went on to give us one the best moment of March so far, making the three at the buzzer to keep Virginia Tech’s season alive.

It’s hard not to feel for Clemson here, as they really played well enough to win this game.
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi currently has Virginia Tech as one of the first four teams out of the tournament, but with some major losses from other bubble teams today such as Wake Forest and Xavier, this win was huge for the hopes of Hokies fans.
Virginia Tech will look to get another big win to further solidify their tournament resume on Thursday when they take on Notre Dame.
