It was just about a year ago to the day when Sports Illustrated profiled a website that was making the rounds in the Indiana Hoosier community. Frustrated with the performance of the Hoosiers under head coach Tom Crean, the website TomCreanBuyout.com was launched, calculating how much it would cost on any particular day to buy out Crean’s contract. A year ago at this time that buyout weighed in at $12 million, and it was trimmed to $7.5 million last July 1. Since then it has been counting down to when the buyout would go down to $4 million which would occur this summer and you can view here.

Time has a funny way of healing wounds, doesn’t it?

Go to the website today and you will see nothing telling you how much Crean’s buyout costs. Instead, you will be treated to a video of Indiana’s basketball players jumping for joy as Crean enters the locker room after the Hoosiers wrapped up the Big Ten regular season title.

Indiana will be the top seed in the Big Ten men’s basketball tournament. Will this website go back to focusing on that buyout amount should the Hoosiers fail to capture the Big Ten tournament championship or if Indiana fails to make it out of the first weekend of the big dance? We’ll be sure to go back and pay a visit should the need arise.
