As I write this, I am inside my house surrounded by 30 inches of snow. This weekend’s blizzard has pelted the northeast and has essentially trapped everyone indoors. Well, almost everyone.
West Virginia University is in the middle of their swim season and when you are a collegiate athlete in the middle of the season, there are no days off.
In a video posted by @christopher_mcm that has since gone viral, a couple WVU swimmers used the opportunity to practice their start technique, diving into the snow in only their speedos. I’m getting colder just watching this.

It may not be the most effective way to practice your starts but it’s a pretty cool team building exercise and a great opportunity to have some fun in the snow.
This has apparently started a trend as more people dived into the snow this weekend in only their swimwear. I will be the first to admit that this is something for someone else to do. If I’m going to dive into a pile of snow, I’m going to do it with about three or four layers of clothes on. Otherwise, I’ll watch you all from indoors.
