Friday was a very bad day for a certain city of Wichita water tower crew.

In the early hours of the day, the crew took to a water tower near 17th and Oliver to update the Wichita State logos painted on it. To the southwest, they painted the yellow and black WSU logo and spelled out the name of the university next to it.

Well, almost.

Word got out pretty quickly that the Y and E in the name were switched and the jokes started popping up soon after. It’s the kind of mistake that you just have to laugh about and both the mayor of Wichita and the city itself were more than happy to get in on the meme.

The water tower spelling was corrected by 11:15 a.m. but you can be sure that the image will live on in many Twitter conversations during WSU games to come.
