With the 2020 NFL regular season launching this week, we’re breaking down every division in a digestible fashion. Here’s a rundown of the NFC East.

Dallas Cowboys

2019 result: 8-8, 2nd place
Major additions: WR CeeDee Lamb, edge Everson Griffen, DT Dontari Poe, CB Trevon Diggs, QB Andy Dalton
Major losses: CB Byron Jones, edge Robert Quinn, WR Randall Cobb, C Travis Frederick (retired)
Why they could kick ass: Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper and Ezekiel Elliott make up the best three-headed monster in the NFL, the offensive line remains jacked, and the defense has the talent to hold it down.
Why they could suck: They will miss Frederick and Jones at key positions.
2020 prediction: 11-5, 1st place, NFC Championship loss

New York Giants

2019 result: 4-12, 3rd place
Major additions: OT Andrew Thomas, LB Blake Martinez, CB James Bradberry, CB Logan Ryan
Major losses: OT Nate Solder (COVID-19)
Why they could kick ass: Quarterback Daniel Jones had some damn high peaks as a rookie, running back Saquon Barkley is a complete stud, and the first-rounder Thomas should help the offensive line.
Why they could suck: Jones was a turnover machine in 2019, Solder opted out, and the defense is a tremendous liability.
2020 prediction: 7-9, 3rd place

Philadelphia Eagles

2019 result: 9-7, 1st place, wild-card loss
Major additions: DT Javon Hargrave, CB Darius Slay, WR Jalen Reagor, CB Nickell Robey-Coleman, QB Jalen Hurts
Major losses: OT Andre Dillard (IR), G Brandon Brooks (PUP), G Halapoulivaati Vaitai, S Malcolm Jenkins
Why they could kick ass: Quarterback Carson Wentz has MVP potential, his receiving corps is improved, and the defense appears loaded.
Why they could suck: Wentz can’t seem to stay healthy, and his offensive line has taken several big hits this offseason.
2020 prediction: 10-6, 2nd place, wild-card loss

Washington Football Team

2019 result: 3-13, 4th place
Major additions: Edge Chase Young, RB Antonio Gibson, RB Peyton Barber, WR Dontrelle Inman, CB Kendall Fuller
Major losses: RB Adrian Peterson, TE Jordan Reed, OT Trent Williams, WR Kelvin Harmon (injury)
Why they could kick ass: Quarterback Dwayne Haskins exploded with a 131.3 passer rating in his final two games as a rookie, and the defense is completely loaded with five first-round picks in the front seven.
Why they could suck: Haskins was terrible outside of that small sample, he has no more offensive support now than he did last year, and the defense has yet to deliver on that talent.
2020 prediction: 7-9, 3rd place
