Ahead of the NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles just made a huge splash. The Eagles will extend star wide receiver A.J. Brown for an eye-popping amount of money.

Philadelphia will reward Brown, one of the best receivers in football, with a contract to make him the highest-paid receiver in the National Football League. Detroit’s Amon-Ra St. Brown had a short-lived reign as the NFL’s highest-paid receiver. Just about 24 hours.

The Eagles announced the extension with a post on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

“ALWAYS OPEN!” the Eagles boasted. Philly announced they agreed to terms with the receiver on a three-year extension through the 2029 NFL season.

The Eagles included a nifty graphic in the post for effect.

Brown has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL over the past few seasons. After starting his career with Tennessee, the Titans traded him to the Eagles two seasons ago. Brown announced his presence in a big way and helped lead the Eagles to Super Bowl LVIII.

In the last two seasons with the Eagles, Brown recorded 2,952 yards, 194 receptions, and 18 receiving touchdowns. He hit 11 in 2022, matching a career-high he set in 2020. Brown recorded back-to-back 1,400+ yard seasons with the Eagles, so we’ll see if he can make it three in a row.

The NFL world had much to say about this extension for A.J. Brown.
