In an ironic twist, Aaron Rodgers has now found himself involved in the ongoing Brett Favre saga.

Favre has been accused of among other things, personally benefitting from the largest welfare scheme in Mississippi history. The scheme, uncovered in 2020, is alleged to have helped to “divert federal funds intended to help poor Mississippians to build a volleyball stadium” at the University of Southern Mississippi, Brett Favre’s alma mater, according to Mississippi Today.

A new piece of evidence uncovered several notable names who helped make a pledge to the new volleyball stadium. New, unredacted records were provided to the publication. The records showed a number of people and entities who pledged to the fund for a new stadium.

Among them? None other than Rodgers.

According to Mississippi Today, records were unveiled for the very first time that showed who made pledges to Favre’s fund. They included Rodgers, the Singing For Change Charitable Foundation – a charity founded by legendary singer Jimmy Buffett, and several others.

Rodgers made a pledge of $10,000 on October 10, 2019, according to the report. SFC made one of $33,378 back on July 10, 2018. Favre’s name appeared on the list with a $50,000 pledge on August 16, 2018.

The publication stated that it doesn’t implicate Aaron Rodgers in the welfare case.

However, Mississippi Today added that “the email serves as a key piece of evidence in Favre’s defense.”
