After recent reports that Aaron Rodgers has narrowed his list of potential destinations to the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets, it’s anyone’s guess which team will land the future Hall of Famer.

Sam Barrington might have more insight than most. The former NFL linebacker played, albeit sparingly, for three seasons with the Green Bay Packers from 2013 through 2015.

Presumably, Barrington has some sources, as they say, because Saturday night he tweeted that Rodgers to Las Vegas is a done deal.

“Just spoke with a friend of mine who is very in tuned with Packers/Aaron Rodgers situation. Aaron will be a @Raiders in 2023,” Barrington tweeted.

Take that report with a grain of salt, but it’s not unheard of for unlikely sources to break some of the biggest sports stories, especially involving trades and free agency.

There’s no question Rodgers would be a good fit with the Raiders, where he would be reunited with former Packers receiving star Davante Adams. In fact, Adams liked Barrington’s tweet and noted “House shopping is fun …”

One of the factors reportedly holding up any potential trade the Packers would make to move Rodgers hinges on whether or not he even plans to continue playing.

If Barrington’s report is to be believed, the Raiders are apparently convinced he’s ready to continue his career, and it will be in Vegas.
