As the offseason continues, the Green Bay Packers and the rest of the NFL world are still waiting on a decision from Aaron Rodgers about his future. And while it may seem like a frustrating position for the Packers, it’s clear that they are willing to wait and see what Rodgers wishes to do.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, no decisions can be made until Rodgers ultimately decides what he wants to do next season.
“We are essentially where we’ve been which is essentially the Green Bay Packers waiting to see what Aaron Rodgers wants to do. And that is really the driver of this thing,” Rapoport said. “There are all these different discussions around Aaron Rodgers … none of this matters until we find out ‘what does Aaron Rodgers want to do?'”

Rapoport said that whatever Rodgers wants to do – return to Green Bay, retire, or seek a trade to NFL another team – the Packers will help make it happen. He also said that the Packers are willing to be patient and won’t force Rodgers’ hand for one simple reason: he’s Aaron Rodgers.
“He’s Aaron Rodgers,” Rapoport said. “He’s still great and you know what you have. You know what you have. With Jordan Love is there some excitement about a quarterback who hasn’t been out there possibly lighting it up for a very cheap contract? Yeah, there is some excitement from inside the building. But Aaron Rodgers, you know. He is one of the best quarterbacks to ever do it, he is an MVP candidate every year – yes, they would welcome him back.”
It will certainly be interesting to see how this all plays out.
