Now that the New York Jets have been announced as the team who will appear on “Hard Knocks” this season, many are wondering how Aaron Rodgers felt about appearing on the show.

Rodgers said this last year when the Green Bay Packers were being considered to appear on the show that he has no interest at least at the time, of being on that show.

“No,” Rodgers replied, adding that he would “veto” the idea.

“I heard they were interested a couple times but our GM never wanted to do it,” he explained about the Packers’ thinking. “I mean usually it’s teams that are kind of at the bottom and they’ve kind of worked it in the deal where there’s like five or six teams that they can choose from that don’t really have a choice. But I mean, I like real authentic interactions.”

Jets head coach Robert Saleh has expressed several times that he wouldn’t be interested in being on the show, however, with Rodgers being on the Jets this year, it makes the team a compelling story whether they want to be or not.

Another reason the Jets may be making an appearance this year is that they haven’t appeared on the show in 13 years since Rex Ryan was head coach.

And according to the criteria set out by the show, the Jets hit all the checkmarks.
