Well, that didn’t take long.

New (literally) York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers didn’t waste any time executing a touchdown pass in his team debut. to wide receiver Garrett Wilson on Saturday in the preseason game against the New York Giants.

It was an absolute dart by the 10-time Pro Bowler to get the early lead:

This was Rodgers’ first preseason game since 2018, and he knows how to make an entrance.

For Wilson, he’s coming off a strong rookie season, and immediately made an impression on the veteran Rodgers who said there was something special about him. Last season, Wilson boasted 83 catches for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns during his Rookie of the Year campaign. He led all rookies in receptions and receiving yards.

Wilson revealed to NFL Network recently that Rodgers is just as complementary about the 10th overall pick in the 2022 draft in person as he is on camera. And he only wants to get better.

“Just being better against zone coverage and getting off-pressed,” Wilson said. “You know, being able to get into my route, whether they’re buzzing outside of me, and want to get a shot on me to slow me down, but yeah — just building my body up so that I can handle hands, handle the physicality that comes with playing football at this level, and still be able to get in my route and be precise.”

Wilson said that when Rodgers in your quarterback, it’s all about being at the right spot on time.

“I feel like I’ll do a great job of that this year,” Wilson added.

Expect to see a lot of touchdowns between this duo this season.
