For the past several weeks, the NFL world has been waiting on a decision from star quarterback Aaron Rodgers about his future plans – whether he was going to retire, return to the Green Back Packers, or see a trade to another team. And now we finally have an answer from Rodgers himself.
During an appearance on the Pat McAfee show on Wednesday afternoon, Aaron Rodgers revealed that he plans to play for the New York Jets this upcoming NFL season. He also blamed the Packers for holding up the trade talks by the “compensation” the team is attempting to get in return.
“I made it clear my intention was to play and to play for the New York Jets, and I haven’t been holding anything up. It’s the compensation that the Packers are trying to get,” Rodgers said during his appearance on the show, according to Rob Demovsky. “The Packers want to move and have let me know that in so many words.”
OK so here it is from Rodgers:

Rodgers also revealed that he was “90% sure” that he would retire from the league when he entered his famous darkness retreat, but that the retreat changed his mind.
So while it may not be official yet, it’s clear that Rodgers intends to play for the New York Jets.
