For the past few offseasons, veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers has opted to skip organized team activities. But after joining the New York Jets this offseason, he decided to participate in the voluntary workouts with his new team. But unfortunately, that decision already had some slight drawbacks.

Ahead of the New York Jets practice on Tuesday, Aaron Rodgers says that he tweaked his calf during “pre-practice conditioning,” a routine where the team uses medicine balls and sleds in order to get players loose for the practice session.

Rodgers claims to have never done anything like this pre-practice conditioning throughout his NFL career.

“I haven’t done it before,” Rodgers said of the pre-practice routines the Jets use, according to Pro Football Talk. “I haven’t done it in 18 years. So but obviously there’s some science behind it.”

Rodgers was asked more specifically how exactly he injured his calf, and he couldn’t really give a firm answer.

“I don’t know. Just running, I guess,” Rodgers said.

While Rodgers made it clear that the injury was not all that serious, there’s a decent chance that it causes him to reconsider his decision to participate in organized team activities in the first place.
