There has been a ton of speculation about the future of Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers after the team missed out on the postseason for the first time since 2018. While he didn’t answer all the questions about his future in the NFL or with the Packers, he offered some insight as to when a potential decision could come.

Rodgers went on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, where he revealed that he’s not “mentally or physically” at the point of making any rash decisions after a discussion with Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst.

“When you have played for so long, it is never about jumping right into the next season,” said Rodgers via The Pat McAfee Show on Twitter. “We had all the conversations that we wanted to have about football for now. They weren’t pressing for a specific answer, and I’m not mentally or emotionally at the point to give an answer.”

Rodgers also added that when he does eventually come to a decision to potentially return to Green Bay, he’ll either be “100 percent in” or totally out.

“It is just taking some time, pausing, and letting all of the emotions run through you,” said Rodgers. “It has gotta be a full fu** yes. It has to be a yes I am 100 percent in, or I’m out.

While Rodgers is certainly far from certain that he will return to the football field next year, he added that he still believes that he can be “an MVP-level player in the right situation.”

“In 2019 a lot of people said I was washed and couldn’t really play anymore, and then I won two MVPs in a row. I’m sure there is some of the same sentiment this year, ‘Do I think I can still play?’ Of course. ‘Can I play at a high level?’ Yeah, the highest. I think I can win MVP again in the right situation. Whether that right situation is with Green Bay or somewhere else, I am not sure.”

While there’s clearly more for Rodgers to figure out in terms of his NFL career, this doesn’t sound like someone who’s completely done with football.

It still remains a question of whether or not he’ll continue to play, but it may be an even bigger question of whether or not a potential return to football would be in Green Bay, or somewhere else.
