Adam Vinatieri has been around a long time. He entered the league in 1996, and when you consider the era his career has spanned, it’s almost hard to believe that a guy who once ran down Herschel Walker is still playing today.
Vinatieri further cemented his place in NFL history today by breaking Morten Anderson’s record for field goals made.

It is nice that Morten and Gary Anderson get to sit next to each other in the record books again.
What a career for @adamvinatieri!
Before he was "Automatic Adam," he was an undrafted kicker out of South Dakota State who spent a year kicking in Europe.
Then he signed with the @Patriots and made his first career FG on Sept. 1, 1996.

At 45, it’s hard to imagine Vinatieri has too many years left; then again, he’s arguably been better than ever, so who knows?
