Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has not played a game since November 8 against the Denver Broncos due to a lacerated kidney. That streak of inactivity continues this week against the Houston Texans as Colts head coach Chuck Pagano has confirmed the franchise quarterback will once again be out of action.

Luck has played in just seven games this season, in which he has been as up and down as they come. To date, Luck has tossed 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while also being sacked 15 times. By all accounts, this is quite the miserable season for the Colts and Luck. Despite the struggles and injury concerns revolving around Luck, there is no doubt he gives the Colts the best chance to win when he is on the field. The Colts have lost the last two games with Hasselbeck at the helm by a combined score of 96-26 against Pittsburgh and Jacksonville.

The good news, perhaps, is Luck did return to the practice field on Wednesday, wearing a red no-contact jersey. Keeping Luck out of action this week shifts the target return date for Luck to Week 16 against the Miami Dolphins.

There’s obviously disappointment,” Luck said after practice, according to Mike Wells of ESPN.com. “Every game you don’t play is a disappointment. You want to get back as quick as you can. I don’t say I’m surprised in a sense. Stick to the process. Disappointed? Sure. Absolutely. My kidney is not fully healed. That does not allow me to get in a position that with contact could further injure myself worse.”

Amazingly, the Colts still hold a lead in the dreadful AFC South division with a record of 6-7. The Colts are tied with the Texans, and Jacksonville is just one game behind as well. And you thought the NFC East was a terrible division (it is) – this pillow fight is downright depressing.
