Andy Reid is hyped up for the Super Bowl.

The Kansas City Chiefs punched their ticket to Super Bowl LVII on Sunday in a 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. This is the Chiefs’ third Super Bowl appearance in the last four years, as the team seeks its third Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.

The Chiefs will play the Philadelphia Eagles, a team very familiar to Reid. He coached the Eagles for 14 seasons and led them to a Super Bowl appearance in the 2004-05 season. That storyline figures to be a persistent one as the anticipation mounts. Reid let his thoughts on the matchup be made clear.

The NFL Twitter account quoted Reid saying, “It’s gonna be awesome, man” about the looming Super Bowl matchup. “Andy Reid spent 14 years as the Eagles head coach. Now he’ll face his former team in Super Bowl LVII.”

“Yeah, I had a great time there. 14 years, a long time. I’m happy for them, I’m happy for the city. They’re passionate, they love football. I can’t wait ’til Kansas City and Philly clash. It’s gonna be awesome, man. What a great Super Bowl it will be,” Reid said at his media availability.

The Chiefs and Eagles meet in what’s sure to be a hotly-contested matchup. FanDuel Sportsbook lists Philadelphia as a 1.5-point favorite.
