On Saturday night, many rumors started flying about former NFL cornerback Aqib Talib (who played for five NFL teams from 2008-2019, and now is a NFL broadcaster for Amazon) and his brother Yaqub potentially being involved in a fatal shooting at a youth football game. On Sunday, Benjamin Allbright of Denver radio station KOA passed on a release from the Lancaster Police Department (the Texas city where this shooting happened) naming Yaqub Talib as a suspect:

Here’s more from that release:
“On August 13, 2022 at approximately 8:50 p.m., Lancaster Police were dispatched to multiple calls for service at 1749 Jefferson St. Lancaster TX commonly known as Lancaster Community Park. The Lancaster Community Park is a community activity park that encompasses several youth league football fields.”
“Upon arrival, officers were notified of a disagreement among coaching staff and the officiating crew. During the disagreement the opposing coaching staff were involved in a physical altercation and one of the individuals involved in the altercation discharged a firearm striking one adult male. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment where he was later pronounced deceased.”
“Officers have identified the suspect involved in this offense as a black male, Yaqub Salik Talib and there is an active warrant for his arrest.”
Fox 4 KDFW (Dallas-Fort Worth) has some more information on what happened:
A fight started among the coaching staff, and police said Talib pulled out a gun and opened fire, hitting another man.
The victim, whose name has not yet been released by police, was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The investigation into this shooting is ongoing.
Police are working to find Talib. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Detective Senad Deranjic at 972-218-2756.
TMZ has video purporting to show the shooting and its aftermath:
