Last season, Arden Key emerged as one of the top defenders for the Jacksonville Jaguars after signing a one-year deal with the team before the season. The year went so well for him and the team that he was sure he’d be returning on a contract extension. But that didn’t happen – and he’s not happy about it.

Arden Key ultimately signed with the Tennessee Titans instead, and during his first press conference with the team, the revealed that he “felt disrespected” that the team didn’t seem to want him back.

“With Jacksonville, it was a shock to me,” Key said according to Nick Suss of The Tennessean. “I ain’t gonna lie. After the year, I thought I was going to be a Jacksonville Jaguar. I felt disrespected. I came over there, lifted up the culture, brought a whole lot of energy, changed the city, changed the town and I felt like in my rightful mind I was going to be a Jacksonville Jaguar. That didn’t happen.”

Of course, the Jaguars play in the same division as the Titans, meaning Arden will now get to face his former team twice in a season. And it sounds like he’s excited for that.

“I still love the players, love the teammates, love the city, love the fans [in Jacksonville],” Key said. “But, yeah, we’ve got to see them twice.”
