The Arizona Cardinals remain invested in starting quarterback Kyler Murray. Still, that hasn’t stopped the team from exploring other quarterback options on the market, as the 25-year-old Murray recovers from a December ACL tear, and adding dependable veterans to their depth chart

In addition to Murray, Colt McCoy and David Blough make up the team’s QB depth chart, but the Cardinals are reportedly looking at adding another arm. ESPN NFL insider Field Yates reported on Thursday that Arizona brought in former Houston Texans quarterback Jeff Driskel for a workout.

The 29-year-old Driskel is a well-traveled veteran, who has spent time with the Bengals, Lions, Broncos and most recently, the Texans, since entering the league in 2016. In 20 career games, Driskel had made 10 career starts, completing 58.6 percent of his passes for 2,166 yards with 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He’s also compiled a 1-9 record in those 10 starts.

Driskel appeared in four games (one start) for the Texans in 2022 and completed just 6-of-10 passes for 46 yards with a touchdown. He returned to the quarterback position last season after Houston attempted to convert him to a tight end in 2021. It’s likely that he worked out at QB for the Cardinals on Thursday, but who knows, that positional flexibility could earn him a spot on Arizona’s 53-man roster.
