The Pittsburgh Steelers still don’t know who their starting quarterback will be for the 2025 season. The Steelers signed Mason Rudolph earlier this offseason, but the expectation from many fans and pundits was that the Steelers would land veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers in free agency as well.

However, Rodgers remains unsigned, and it appears the Steelers have made their final decision on how long they’re willing to wait for him to make his decision.

“Steelers president Art Rooney II — who said April 1 that the Steelers will wait “not forever, but a little while longer” for Aaron Rodgers — delivered a similar line on his way out of Wednesday’s owners meetings. ‘A little while longer. I’ll say the same thing,’ he said,” reported ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Thursday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Steelers waiting on some washed 41 year old QB to save their season, while he’s somewhere in the woods using hallucinogens and could care less about football anymore,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“The fact they still even have an offer out to him is the most embarassing thing this team could do in years and that’s saying something,” someone else added.

“Steelers have no other options at this point. Its either playing for steelers or retirement. He knows that and they know that. Its either playing w rudolph or a 42 y/o AR who isnt himself either way that offense is going to look (bad),” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see how the situation plays out.
