Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has been the talk of the NFL offseason following the recent announcement a Houston grand jury voted to drop the criminal charges against him.

The former three-time Pro-Bowler has not played in an NFL game since 2020 following sexual assault allegations. With the clearing of those criminal charges, though (although civil lawsuits are still pending), Watson is now drawing interest from several teams around the NFL for a potential trade.

Reports came out on Thursday that the race to attain the quarterback seems to be between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints.

While many reports suggested that the Saints were in the lead for Watson, Falcons’ star tight end Kyle Pitts posted a message on social media that seems to indicate otherwise.

In a tweet that has since been deleted, Pitts (seen at top) posted a message reading “It’s about to get scary in Atlanta”.

This post certainly got the NFL world talking, with many clearly thinking that Pitts is referring to Watson being traded to the Falcons very soon. However, others also commented on his quick deletion of that tweet.

Pitts then posted this, claiming that he was talking about the Falcons bringing in veteran cornerback Casey Hayward.

Despite that, it feels like Pitts was talking about Watson. Otherwise, there would be no reason to delete the message.

Now the question is whether or not Pitts is just excited about the possibility of a potential trade, or if he knows that it is in the works for the team.

It is worth noting that Watson and Pitts share the same agency, along with Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot and assistant general manager Kyle Smith. So it is certainly plausible that Pitts knows something the rest of us don’t.

Regardless, it will certainly be interesting to watch in the coming days where Watson will be heading. Whether it is New Orleans or Atlanta, it seems like a big trade could be coming any day now for the Texans.
