After much speculation on where he will get traded to, Baker Mayfield has finally found a new home with the Carolina Panthers Wednesday in exchange for a 2024 conditional draft pick.
While the NFL world had their reactions to the breaking news, the person closest to the former No. 1 overall pick, his wife Emily, celebrated her husband’s trade to Carolina by posting a photo of Mayfield donning a Panthers uniform on her Instagram story as well as pictures of the couple in honor of their three-year wedding anniversary.

Emily, unlike most NFL wives, has never been afraid to voice her opinion in defense of her husband, especially during last season when Mayfield struggled with injuries and constant criticism from the local and national media.
After Baker threw four picks against the Green Bay Packers last November, Emily begged Browns fans to not quit on him. Emily took to Instagram again to share some of the death threats her husband received after his performance at Lambeau.
Baker’s relationship with the Browns only deteriorated after the team acquired Deshaun Watson — thus putting an end to his tenure in Cleveland.
The two will get a fresh start in a new city and we’ll see if Mayfield will be able to beat out Sam Darnold for the starting job.
