The Baltimore Ravens are having one of their most disappointing seasons since drafting Heisman trophy winner and two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson. The Ravens, largely due to health concerns surrounding Jackson, started the season 1-5.
The Ravens managed to grind their way to 6-6 to enter last weekend tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for first place in the AFC North. A win over those same Steelers on Sunday would’ve been a major boon to the Ravens’ playoff chances. Unfortunately for Baltimore and its fans, the Steelers left the city with a win.
At 6-7, and with one of the toughest remaining schedules in the league, the Ravens are going to need Jackson to perform at the top of his game in order to work thier way back into the playoff picture. Many feel that Jackson’s inconsistent play this season is due not only to concerns around his health, but also the poor play of the offensive line.
Unfortunately for Jackson, he’ll be without a depth piece on the line that could provide a solution for the next three games.
“Announcement from the NFL: Ben Cleveland of the Baltimore Ravens is suspended for the club’s next three games without pay for violating the NFL’s Substances of Abuse Policy,” the Ravens tweeted from the team’s official Twitter account.
The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec provided more context on the situation.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Arrest Harbaugh for negligence next, he’s neglected benching Faalele all season,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“If I had to watch 77 play instead of me I’d drink too,” someone else added.
“Man they gotta blow it all up at this point,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Jackson and the offensive line can work through their issues in time to salvage a playoff appearance, which all but hinges on winning the division at this point.
