There is no longer any real question that Lamar Jackson will be the starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens this upcoming season after finally signing a long-term deal with the franchise this offseason despite a lengthy contract dispute. But now it looks like the Ravens are adding some veteran depth behind him.

On Monday, Adam Schefter announced that the Baltimore Ravens were signing free-agent veteran quarterback Josh Johnson, who has played with the team on two previous occasions and is the owner of quite an odd and unique NFL record, playing for more teams than any other quarterback in history.

“Free-agent QB Josh Johnson, who has played for an NFL record 14 teams, is returning to the Ravens for the third time in his NFL career, per source. Johnson was with the Ravens in 2016, 2021 and now will be back again in 2023,” Schefter wrote in a tweet.

Johnson entered the NFL back in 2008 as a fifth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since then, he has also spent time with the Ravens, the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, Houston Texans, Raiders, Washington, Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos.

Despite his lengthy career, Johnson has only appeared in 39 career games where he completed 58 percent of his passes for 2,280 yards. Throughout his career, he has thrown 13 touchdowns and 16 interceptions for a 70.6 passer rating.
