Last week, authorities arrested Daejon Love on federal charges for allegedly defrauding over a dozen women out of 1.6 million dollars. Love posed as a San Francisco 49er on social media and claimed to be an undrafted wide receiver for the team. Several videos of Love pretending to live an NFL lifestyle have come to light as the investigation continues; as serious as the implications are, media outlets such as Barstool Sports are not holding back their opinions regarding the case.
On the latest episode of Wake Up Barstool, Dave Portnoy and co-host Bobby “T-Bob” Hebert address Love’s case in a segment they call “Stock up or Stock down.”

“Is this a stock up or stock down? Daejon Love, the man who went viral on social media this weekend, he’s allegedly defrauded women out of 1.6 million dollars pretending to be an NFL player. Are we impressed, or should he be punished for this?” T-Bob asked Portnoy.
“Well, he’s gotta be punished, but you can also be impressed,” Portnoy answered. “Once this story broke, the clips that have subsequently come out, and how dedicated he was to this craft, and the amount of videos and how deep he went, it’s like, George Costanza, ‘you wanna go to the Hamptons? You wanna meet Prickley Pete? Let’s go to the Hamptons,’ he went all the way with this. I think it’s a stock up for everyone involved.”
“It is a hilarious scam; the fact that he was so dedicated, I mean, it’s unbelievable,” Portnoy added
As the case continues to divulge new information daily, the situation does not look to get better for Love and those involved.
