The Chicago Bears are looking to build on last season’s success, when the first year of quarterback Caleb Wilson and head coach Ben Johnson resulted in a Wild Card round win over their bitter rivals, the Green Bay Packers. However, not everyone is sold on Williams just yet.
“I don’t think he’s a good quarterback right now,” former NFL player Mark Schlereth said in an appearance on The Herd.
“The number of missed throws, inaccurate throws, shoddy footwork in the pocket,” Schlereth added, “like all those things need to be improved upon… He has got to be better at doing the boring. He has got to grow and mature as a quarterback to be considered elite.”
Unfortunately for Chicago, Williams it may be even more critical that Williams takes the next step, as one of their major free agent signing was “emotional” and carted off the field during training camp on Monday.
“Not good. Coby Bryant just went down grabbing his left knee during a 1-on-1 rep vs Cole Kmet. He was clearly emotional as he got on a cart under his own power. I’ll caution you that they are on the far fields so a cart is not unusual, but the fact that he was so emotional is concerning,” reported Adam Hoge.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“I AM SO S*CK OF THIS SHIT EVERY F*CKING YEAR,” one fan posted.
“Why does this always happen when we pay a defensive player. Wtf man. Hope he is ok. He was gonna be the reason why the D was improved,” another fan added.
“Awful. Bears’ defense won’t survive the year without him,” someone else wrote.
Hopefully, the Bears and Bryant receive the best news possible in his diagnosis.
