Joe Burrow Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (9) celebrates after beating the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, in Nashville, Tenn. Nfl Cincinnati Bengals At Tennessee Titans

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow didn’t come out and say he expects to be the highest-paid player in the league next season, but he sure did hint at it.

Without saying the words, Burrow says the Bengals organization knows what they expect him to request.

“I’m pretty clear on what I want in the contract and what I think is best for myself and the team,” Burrow said (via Pro Football Talk). “And so we’re on the road to making that happen.”

With both Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts recently signing huge contracts, you have to believe that Burrow expects the same and more.

Many think that Burrow is second only behind Patrick Mahomes as being the best QB in the league right now, so of course he is going to want to be paid like it, too.

He has taken his team to a Super Bowl in his second season and two AFC Championship games in three years. It would be a shocker to all if Burrow doesn’t get paid the money he deserves soon.

The question is will Burrow defer some of his money for later so the Bengals can have more cap space? Or will he pull an Aaron Rodgers and demand he gets all his money now? That all remains to be seen.
