The Cincinnati Bengals came into this season eager to end their playoff drought. The season got off to a promising 2-0 start to the campaign, but it proved costly, as star Burrow suffered a turf toe injury in the second game of the season that caused him to miss a significant chunk of the season.
The Bengals floundered without Burrow. However, the star pass thrower returned ahead of schedule, and with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens undergoing their own struggles this season, Burrow still had an outside chance of winning the division and earning their way into the playoff picture.
Unfortunately, Burrow and the Bengals dropped a heartbreaker to the Bills on Sunday, putting a major dent in their playoff chances. To make matters worse for Burrow and company, one of his top targets is now dealing with a serious head injury, according to one prominent team insider.
“Tee Higgins had concussion symptoms after the game. He will go back in the protocol, according to Zac Taylor,” reported Paul Dehner Jr. on Monday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“It made watching the game difficult every time they showed him with obvious concussion symptoms!” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“This is something he genuinely needs to take seriously. 2 concussions in 3 weeks is dangerous. The season is over, he shouldn’t be risked again,” someone else added.
“He was literally grabbing at his head damn near every time he got tackled. They knew he was concussed,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Bengals shut down Higgins and Burrow for the rest of the season, with their playoff hopes so slim.
