Ahead of Thursday’s 2024 NFL Draft, a star receiver has requested a trade. Cincinnati Bengals wideout Tee Higgins reportedly wants out.

Higgins, who’s been a crucial piece of the puzzle in Cincy over the past few seasons, appears to have hit a wall in contract negotiations. So, the former Tennessee standout decided to request a trade on Wednesday.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the details on Wednesday. Higgins is not the only player to request a trade, as Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson also requested a trade.

“Bengals franchise WR Tee Higgins also has requested to be traded being that have been no contract talks with the team now in over a year,” Schefter said.

The Bengals selected Higgins with the 33rd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The second-round selection from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, has impressed since entering the NFL.

Higgins has 257 career receptions, 3,684 career receiving yards, and 24 receiving touchdowns. He’s been a quality playoff performer for the team as well. In six career postseason games, Higgins has 31 receptions, 457 yards, and three touchdowns.

Higgins is one of the brightest young talents in the NFL and while Ja’Marr Chase has all the attention, he’s proven to be a rock-solid No. 2 option. Someone out there might get lucky in getting Higgins, and it will prove interesting to see if he lands somewhere else.

The NFL world had much to say about Tee Higgins and his trade demand.
