Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass has deleted his social media accounts after reportedly receiving death threats following Buffalo’s 27-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Playoff on Sunday.

Bass missed a 44-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter that would have tied the game.

MLFootball pointed out the news on X (formerly Twitter) Monday.

It goes without saying that sending death threats on social media over anything, least of all a football game, is way over the line, but blaming one player for any loss in the first place is foolish. Football is a team game and while Bass missed a field goal, there are plenty of things the Bills could have done differently throughout the game to not even be in that situation in the first place.

“Ultimately, it’s completely on me. I’ve got to do a better job of getting through to my target,” Bass said, via ESPN, after the Bills’ 27-24 loss. “I’ve got to do a better job of playing it a little bit more left when you have a left-to-right [wind]. I’ve been here long enough to know that you have to do that.

“You know, I was trusting my line that I had in warmups. Hit a good ball, but it didn’t work out. I feel terrible, you know? I love this team and it hurts. This one hurts bad. Yeah, I’ve got to do a better job. Totally on me.”
