After losing Tre’Davious White to a season-ending knee injury, the Buffalo Bills have been in the market for a cornerback. If Buffalo has any aspirations of winning the AFC East or making some noise in the playoffs in the 2023 NFL season, it couldn’t stick with a cornerback tandem of Christian Benford and Dane Jackson.
That’s why the Bills swung a deal for a Super Bowl-winning cornerback. Ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline, Rasul Douglas and a 2024 fifth-round pick were traded to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a 2024 third-round pick.

After spending the 2020 season with the Carolina Panthers, Douglas revitalized his career in Green Bay (2021-23) where he played two and a half seasons of great football. Ahead of last season, the 29-year-old Douglas signed a three-year, $21 million extension.
During his time in Green Bay, Douglas played in 36 games (28 starts) and recorded 174 total tackles, 10 interceptions (two interceptions for touchdowns) and 32 passes defended. In seven games this season, Douglas has one interception and six passes defended, to go with 32 total tackles and a fumble recovery.
Those in the NFL world were quick to offer their thoughts on the huge Buffalo Bills move.
Rasul Douglas signing with the Packers mid-season and then making the game winning INT to beat the Cardinals (team that cut him) is one of my all time favorite Packer stories. 🎧#GoPackGo #ForeverPacker pic.twitter.com/VqXN418vuw

Rasul Douglas did a lot in a relatively short time with the #Packers, but nothing greater than this… pic.twitter.com/c83i4H9SId

Joe Barry outlasting Rasul Douglas as a Green Bay Packer is the most disgusting thing I have seen this year

Rasul Douglas was one of the most Bills-ish players that wasn't already on the Bills in the entire league so this makes a lot of sense. https://t.co/TkG0YlF5ej

Rasul Douglas is a nice get by the Bills. His aggressive nature will get him in trouble sometimes but it also pays off a lot too…but he’s a gamer for sure #BillsMafia

Like this one for both sides
Bills get a good secondary player
Packers keep their eyes on the prize (a top 3 pick) https://t.co/Gc21nFfnk9

All of #BillsMafia that has complained all day about the #Bills must sign off for 24 hours for introspection. https://t.co/Nduy0fneL4

The pulse of the Packers defense is on his way out. https://t.co/sn4twIRoUG

The last time the Bills added a former Packers defensive back, they signed Micah Hyde in free agency. If Douglas works out even half as much as the Hyde signing did, Buffalo’s in good shape. Adding the leadership and playstyle of Douglas only seems to benefit a Bills team that didn’t give up a whole lot to get him.
