Bo Nix was the sixth quarterback selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft but he is the first of them to sign his contract.

Nix, who was selected 12th overall by the Denver Broncos, signed his rookie contract on Friday.

The four-year deal is worth a fully guaranteed $18.61 million and includes a $10.36 million signing bonus. As it is with all first-round picks, Nix’s rookie deal includes an option for a fifth year.

Nix joins some other first-round picks in signing his NFL contract, including New York Giants receiver Malik Nabers, New Orleans tackle Talise Fuaga, Indianapolis edge rusher Laiatu Latu, Seattle defensive lineman Byron Murphy II, and a few others. None of the other quarterbacks selected in the first round have signed their deals yet, however.

Nix spent the weekend in rookie minicamp where he began the process of competing for the Broncos starting job against Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson. Even if one of them ends up earning the gig to start the 2024 NFL season, Nix is clearly going to get his opportunity sooner or later.

After three seasons at Auburn, Nix transferred to Oregon. In two seasons with the Ducks, he led the team to a 22-5 record and amassed over 8,000 passing yards, 74 touchdowns, and just 10 interceptions.
