The Denver Broncos are set to take on the Buffalo Bills in a divisional round showdown this weekend. Before that matchup, Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has made his thoughts on Bills quarterback Josh Allen very clear.
During a press conference leading up to this weekend’s game, Nix did not hold back his true thoughts on Allen as he showered the Bills’ quarterback with praise.
Nix went as far as to liken Allen to a “superhero” for his uncanny ability to make “play after play.”
“He’s incredible. He’s the MVP of the league for a reason,” Nix told reporters via Pro Football Talk. “He continues to make play after play when sort of the game’s not necessarily looking like he can make the play. He just goes out there and does superhero stuff.”
As for what makes Allen so great, Nix particularly noted his toughness.
“I think one of the things that separates him is just his toughness, his ability to go play after play at his maximum velocities, his peak performance. It’s been fun to watch him play over the course of his career. It feels like he got in the league, but he’s been in there for a while at this point, making play after play. He’s just a kind of a generational talent.”
Nix made it pretty clear that Allen’s combination of size and athleticism is “not normal,” especially for a quarterback with his arm.
“You don’t see that all the time, guys as big as the defensive linemen just being able to be as athletic as skill players” Nix said. “It’s not normal. He has great arm strength, too. It’s one of those things where you can do it all at a high level, and it’s always been fun to watch.”
Needless to say, it sounds like Nix has his work cut out for him if he’s going to lead his team to victory over Allen and the Bills this weekend.
