The Los Angeles Chargers clinched their playoff berth in Week 16’s Monday night win over the Indianapolis Colts, and it appears that they are getting healthy at the right time of the season. Star pass rusher Joey Bosa returned to practice on Thursday along with being designated to return from IR.

Chargers head coach Brandon Staley revealed on Friday that it is indeed the plan to activate Joey Bosa for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

“That’s the plan,” said Staley when asked if Bosa would indeed play on Sunday.

While this is great news for the Chargers, it appears that he may be worked in slowly in his return to action. Staley added that Bosa will likely be on a snap count as he tries to get back into game shape, according to Chargers reporter Daniel Popper of The Athletic.

Considering Joey Bosa has not played since Week 3 after tearing his groin against the Jacksonville Jaguars, it makes sense that it will take some time for him to get up to speed.

Regardless, with a playoff spot solidified, Los Angeles has time to get him back into shape so that he can make a real impact in their potential playoff matchup.

It also helps that the Chargers’ final two games of the season come against the Rams and the Denver Broncos. Both teams that have been pretty embarrassing for much of the season, giving Bosa a good chance to thrive in those matchups.
