Aaron Rodgers has been the talk of the NFL offseason, with everyone wondering whether he was going to request a trade to a team like the Denver Broncos, stick it out with the Green Bay Packers, or decide to retire.

Rodgers ultimately decided to stay in Green Bay, which came to the disappointment of many Broncos fans. The Broncos certainly got one heck of a consolation prize in trading for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

One quarterback who knows exactly how it felt to be like Rodgers this offseason is former Packers quarterback Brett Favre.

Favre made some bold comments back in January that he felt like Rodgers’ time with the Packers might be done. Now that Rodgers has decided to stay with the Packers, Favre’s comments are certainly a little different.

“It wasn’t much from a surprise perspective. I have said this all along and will continue to say this. I assume that Aaron’s objective is to try and get to the Super Bowl. His best chance to get there has been in Green Bay the last two years.” said Favre in an interview on Sirius XM radio.

“I haven’t talked to Aaron, I don’t know what his vision is like but I gotta assume that he is thinking ‘Hey I got a good thing going on here, so I might as well come back and try my chances. As far as the contract, it’s gotta be close to what they are speculating. Is anyone worth that kind of money? Probably not, but it’s the way the market works.”

Rodgers is about as difficult as anyone to really figure out his true intentions in the NFL, so it is no fault to Favre that he was originally wrong on his original prediction for Rodgers’ future.

Rodgers and the Packers should be in an excellent position to continue to be one of the best teams in the NFC next season with the team franchise-tagging star wide receiver Davante Adams.
