Brett Favre Syndication: USA TODAY

For the past several months, former NFL star quarterback Brett Favre has faced some horrible accusations that he used welfare funds that were intended for poor and underprivileged people in Mississippi to help build a volleyball stadium, fund a football facility, finance his sketchy “concussion cream” venture, and fill his pockets. Favre has maintained his innocence, insisting he didn’t know where the money was coming from. But new evidence suggests that’s not true.

On Monday evening, Mississippi state auditor Shad White – who Favre is suing for defamation in addition to media personalities Shannon Sharpe and Pat McAfee – posted a threat on Twitter that shows some new text messages that appear to prove Favre knew exactly where the money was coming from and tried to cover it up.

“The public already knew Favre knew he was receiving public money. But the new texts make it clear Favre knew he was receiving ‘grant’ money intended to benefit people in ‘state funded shelters, schools, homes, etc.’ In other words, the poor,” White said in a tweet.

White’s tweets made waves around the NFL world as people blasted Favre for his horrible actions.

It’s clear that Favre continues to be in some serious trouble.
