Kenny Golladay New York Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay (19) warms up before a preseason game at MetLife Stadium on August 21, 2022, in East Rutherford. Nfl Ny Giants Preseason Game Vs Bengals Bengals At Giants

On Wednesday, New York Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay voiced his frustrations over a lack of playing time so far this season. Thursday, head coach Brian Daboll responded.

Golladay, who signed a four-year, $72 million deal with the Giants before the 2021 season, has not seen much action so far in 2022. He has 48 offensive snaps and two receptions for 22 yards, all of which currently puts him fourth amongst all of New York’s receivers.

When asked about his current role on the offense, Golladay voiced his frustration, per a video by SNY.

“I don’t agree with it,” Golladay said. “I came here to play.”

When asked about the reasons he has been given for why he’s not getting starter snaps, the receiver said that it doesn’t matter to him.

“I should be playing regardless,” Golladay said.

Thursday, Daboll told reporters that he thinks his standing with Golladay is in “a good spot” and that the fact that his receiver is unhappy is a good thing.

“I’ve been in the NFL a long time,” Daboll said, via Darryl Slater of NJ.com. “I don’t know if I’ve ever been part of any team where someone is not happy about something. I have a great respect for Kenny. I’m glad he’s [not] happy that he didn’t play. It shows competitiveness. But he’s been a pro, and we’ll see how it goes this week.”

Daboll did not promise that Golladay would receive more snaps in the Giants’ game against the Dallas Cowboys this weekend. And so long as the 2-0 Giants keep winning, it’ll be hard to disagree with his game-planning.
