Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross talks with Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, October 18, 2020. Dolphins Owner Stephen M Ross 78

Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores shocked the NFL world when he announced that he was suing the NFL for racial discrimination over the hiring process with multiple franchises.

We knew this topic was going to stretch well into the NFL offseason and that it would seemingly impact Flores in his attempt to regain a head coaching gig in the league. While several teams listed Flores as a final candidate this offseason, he was ultimately not chosen as a head coach for any team.

He did sign on with the Pittsburgh Steelers once it was clear that he would not be a head coach, joining the team as a defensive assistant and linebackers coach. However, his lawsuit remains in play.

It seems that Flores is not alone in his claims against the NFL. Two other NFL coaches will reportedly be joining the Flores lawsuit as plaintiffs, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The names of the coaches have not been revealed yet, and it is unclear if any other teams will be named specifically in their testimony.

Flores’s suit is against the entire league but singled out the New York Giants, Denver Broncos, and Dolphins in his case. It is entirely possible that these two plaintiffs could have cases against other teams around the league, so it will certainly be interesting to monitor going forward.

These coaches are set to come forward on April 8th, so it appears that we will have our answer on who these plaintiffs are quite soon.
